Debbie's journey to safety began when she reached out to Taupō Women's Refuge after experiencing family violence. Through advocacy, safety planning, and support groups, she found the strength to break the cycle of abuse. Today, she and her children live without fear, embracing a future built on safety, healing, and hope.

Āwhina Society Inc. welcomed members and the wider community to its 2021 Annual General Meeting, providing an opportunity to review the year's progress, celebrate achievements, and look ahead to future initiatives supporting whānau in the Taupō community.
